Gartner, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director Analyst, Risk Strategy for CIOs in Financial Services to provide strategic insight on mission-critical priorities for protecting firms from risk. In this role, you will serve as a credible voice and trusted advisor to global clients, creating actionable insights and predictions that shape their technology risk strategies.
What You'll Do
- Create innovative, thought-provoking, and highly leveraged 'must-have' insights addressing CIO priorities in Financial Services.
- Serve as an authority on how CIOs plan and execute risk management initiatives in IT.
- Deliver strong positions on best and emerging practices for CIOs to manage risk, reducing operating losses and driving positive business results.
- Present Financial Services content and thought leadership in one-to-one and one-to-many forums, including client presentations and Gartner events.
- Develop predictions and scenarios about the future of risk technology in Financial Services and the implications for CIOs.
- Develop new insights and ideas through thought leadership and offer compelling, actionable approaches to client needs.
- Conduct in-depth analysis to identify the root cause of client barriers and reframe thinking to drive strategy.
- Demonstrate thought leadership in establishing insights positions across a team of analysts.
- Bring provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders to evolve research agendas.
- Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts to provide clients and vendors with actionable insights.
- Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice via virtual or face-to-face interactions.
- Create and deliver high-value presentation materials for Gartner events, industry conferences, and client briefings.
- Support the Business and Technology Insights (BTI) and Sales teams by serving as the voice of the market to help create content and drive client engagement.
- Provide high-quality and timely content peer review.
- Build credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy.
- Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions and collaborate effectively with peers.
- Identify research process improvements or develop new processes to improve service delivery.
- Mentor and coach more junior team members.
- Be client-centric while actively seeking to help clients engage regularly with Gartner insights.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience in a leadership role.
- 3+ years of direct experience in banking technology.
- Subject expertise in Financial Services technology and strategies where IT needs to address risk threats.
- Strong understanding in at least one of the following technology categories: AI, threat detection, identity access management, data security, or endpoint detection.
- Understanding of the business and IT capabilities needed for banks to serve customers while maintaining trust and regulatory compliance.
- Strong passion for learning about and providing insight into new trends and developments in security for banks globally.
- Experience evaluating, selecting, and partnering with Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) providers.
- Demonstrated executive presence; ability to immediately establish credibility with executives and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
- Demonstrate excellence in research and English writing ability.
- Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
- Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions.
- Strong communicator able to explain complex concepts concisely and simply.
- Subject matter expert comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area.
- Ability to work independently while being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams in a multicultural global team.
- Learning agile and adept with navigating highly matrixed environments.
- Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%.
