Gartner is hiring a Sr. Director, Analyst to provide Business and Technology Insights services to global clients, focusing on public cloud optimization and transformation services (PCOTS). You will advise sourcing, procurement, and CxO clients on negotiating high-value contracts with key cloud vendors using a data-driven approach.
What You'll Do
- Create innovative, thought-provoking research content to help clients achieve business outcomes from Outsourced IT Services.
- Provide high-quality, actionable advice through written responses, presentations, webinars, and inquiry calls.
- Advise clients on selecting providers for cloud-native transformation projects and ongoing public cloud managed services.
- Lead clients through end-to-end sourcing projects and formulate comprehensive sourcing strategies for public cloud services.
- Guide negotiations for multiyear contracts, securing favorable pricing, volume discounts, flexible commitments, and optimal SLAs.
- Negotiate optimal contract terms, focusing on cost optimization, vendor performance, and risk mitigation.
- Review client contracts for Outsourced IT Services, identifying gaps in commercial terms or SLAs.
- Continuously monitor trends in cloud service pricing, vendor discount programs, and contractual terms.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, computer science, or a related field.
- 15+ years of relevant field or industry experience in a sourcing role or within a provider tendering and negotiating IT services delivery.
- At least three years of direct experience in IT procurement or strategic sourcing involving cloud contracts with hyperscale vendors like AWS and enterprise software vendors like Oracle.
- Proven experience negotiating high-value public cloud contracts, demonstrating success in leveraging competitive bidding and cost optimization strategies.
- Deep knowledge of public cloud optimization and transformation services (PCOTS), including experience with cloud-native professional and managed services and utilization of hyperscale cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).
- Passion, drive, and enthusiasm to help sourcing executives and CxO clients with their IT services sourcing initiatives.
- Intellectual agility to learn new topics and develop necessary expertise to advise clients on best practices.
- Ability to gather and analyze data to drive insights for new research, reflecting in-depth domain and quantitative expertise.
- Ability to present to small or large audiences in different venues and settings.
- Ability to effectively reframe client problems to identify root causes and potential solutions.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workflow independently.
- Ability to collaborate productively as a thought-partner and coach, leveraging peer networks.
- Takes feedback on board and applies it positively, constantly striving to improve.
