McKesson, a Fortune 10 healthcare company, is seeking a Sr. Data Governance Analyst to lead the charge in ensuring responsible and ethical data use across AI, analytics, and operational platforms. You will shape data governance frameworks for AI/ML models, structured data, and unstructured data to support advanced analytics and AI-driven decision-making. In this role, you will mentor junior analysts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic data management.
What You'll Do
- Identify and support business data or subject area stewards for assigned segments.
- Facilitate inter and intra-segment collaboration on data improvements.
- Identify and communicate data opportunities across analytical and AI use cases.
- Coordinate implementation of data improvement efforts.
- Advocate for data quality and documentation initiatives.
- Demonstrate competence in using data cataloging software and standard office software applications.
- Lead and manage complex assignments and projects leveraging data through Analytics or AI efforts.
- Make strategic recommendations on new or improved processes, procedures, and workflows.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Conduct advanced research, collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of metadata and its usage to advance Analytics and AI efforts.
- Assemble and maintain comprehensive records, reports, files, and other documents required for data governance activities.
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders to obtain and provide critical information.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts and other team members.
What We're Looking For
- Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
- At least 2–3 years in data governance.
- At least 4–5 years in data management.
- Proficiency with modern Data Cataloging/Metadata Management tools.
- Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Internet applications, and electronic medical record systems.
- Strong understanding of data management principles and data governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with data quality tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- Strong understanding of the ethical usage of data with an emphasis on AI and Analytics.
