About the Role
This role is responsible for designing and delivering coding compliance education programs, supporting clinical and administrative teams in maintaining regulatory adherence, and improving coding accuracy through training and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive coding compliance training for clinical and administrative staff
- Create educational materials and resources to support coding standards and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with coding and billing teams to identify knowledge gaps and improvement opportunities
- Monitor changes in coding regulations and update training content accordingly
- Lead instructor-led and virtual training sessions for diverse audiences
- Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments and feedback mechanisms
- Support audits by providing educational insights and documentation
- Promote consistent application of coding guidelines across departments
- Serve as a subject matter expert on coding compliance topics
- Partner with compliance officers to align education with organizational policies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Assist in the development of coding policies and procedures
- Provide guidance during coding-related investigations or reviews
- Track and report on education metrics and participation rates
- Ensure training programs meet federal and payer-specific requirements
- Facilitate onboarding training for new coding personnel
- Advise on best practices for documentation that supports accurate coding
- Coordinate with IT teams on learning management system updates
- Respond to coding education inquiries from multiple stakeholders
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to coding quality
