What You'll Do
As a Sr. Associate in Surgical Field Sales, you will lead efforts to expand market presence for ophthalmic surgical products within your designated European territory. Your primary focus will be achieving defined sales goals by actively promoting innovative solutions to eye care specialists and surgical centers.
You will engage directly with key decision-makers, including high-volume practitioners and medical influencers, to understand their needs and align them with the right products. By executing a well-defined sales strategy, you’ll identify new business opportunities and strengthen existing accounts through regular field visits and follow-up support.
You’ll organize and lead educational events and product updates, ensuring healthcare providers stay informed about advancements, pricing, and service offerings. Maintaining accurate customer records and submitting timely reports are essential to tracking performance and refining outreach efforts.
Additionally, you will monitor competitive activity in the market, using insights to protect and grow Alcon’s share while adapting to evolving customer demands.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in a commercial or science-related field is required, along with at least five years of direct experience in ophthalmic sales. You must demonstrate deep familiarity with the ophthalmology landscape, particularly surgical workflows and product applications.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are essential, especially when building trust with physicians and clinical teams. Success in this role depends on strategic thinking, initiative, and a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior exposure to retina-focused treatments or medical retina products is highly valued, given the specialized nature of the team and its mission.
