EcoVadis was looking for a Squad Lead (Engineering Manager)

What You'll Do

Shape the direction of a critical product area by collaborating directly with product leaders to define vision and roadmap. You'll ensure that engineering capabilities align with business objectives, translating strategic goals into actionable technical plans.

Lead and develop a sizable cross-functional engineering team of around 20 members, promoting ownership, technical excellence, and continuous growth. Guide team members in crafting robust, scalable systems while challenging architectural choices to avoid technical stagnation.

Drive operational efficiency across complex initiatives, removing bottlenecks and maintaining momentum without sacrificing quality. Coordinate closely with engineering, product, and design counterparts to ensure alignment and smooth execution.

Balance new feature development with proactive management of technical debt, ensuring long-term system health. Maintain visibility into team capacity and actively support the advancement of senior engineers within the group.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience with large engineering teams (approximately 20 people) in a B2B SaaS environment
  • Strong technical foundation with deep understanding of SaaS architecture and scalability
  • Ability to act as a strategic partner to product leadership, sharing ownership of roadmap and delivery outcomes
  • Demonstrated success in defining and executing engineering vision for customer-facing systems
  • Track record of mentoring engineers and cultivating a culture of craftsmanship and accountability
