IQ-EQ is hiring a SQL Database Administrator to play a critical role in maintaining the performance, security, and reliability of our database infrastructure. You will manage our Microsoft SQL Server estate, ensuring high availability and optimal performance across all environments.
What You'll Do
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases for high availability and optimal performance.
- Implement and manage robust database backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Monitor and tune databases to ensure peak performance and scalability, including optimizing SQL queries and indexing strategies.
- Maintain data integrity and accuracy through continuous monitoring and regular audits.
- Diagnose and resolve database-related issues quickly and effectively.
- Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patches with minimal downtime.
- Conduct capacity planning and forecasting for system growth.
- Support the SQL server estate across Prod/UAT/Dev environments.
- Use tools like SQL Sentry or SSMS to ensure databases are running to optimal standards.
- Perform index maintenance to speed up query execution and reduce system load.
- Reorganize indexes and update statistics.
- Assist in queries for new or existing applications, ensuring optimal structure and performance.
- Document detail changes to database structure including configurations and performance.
- Assist in the generation of SQL reports that may be required for the business.
- Resolve audit findings through the change management process.
- Provide support in application upgrades and releases.
- Perform routine data updates and patches.
- Assist in the support of disaster recovery procedures.
- Ensure SQL server workloads are distributed evenly across the infrastructure.
What We're Looking For
- A graduate degree, preferably in IT-related disciplines.
- Strong Risk & Security awareness.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Experience with SQL failover clustering and availability groups, transparent data encryption.
- Experience with SQL Server Integration and Reporting Services.
- Experience on a variety of SQL Server operating systems.
- Fully proficient spoken and written English.
Nice to Have
- Microsoft Certifications.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL.
- Experience of working in a complex, multi-country professional services, financial services, or BPO organization with complex processing requirements.
- Multi-country experience and demonstrates an ability to work in a multi-cultural, talented, and demanding team environment.
- Possess the skills and the personality to operate effectively in a very fast-paced complex global business with an in-depth knowledge of program management.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and oral form, with staff members, customers, suppliers, and the management team with the ability to make decisions, act and get results.
- Additional European languages will be an asset.
