What You'll Do
Architect and support resilient, highly available database solutions across production, staging, and development environments. You'll implement infrastructure as code to deploy and manage cloud-based data systems, ensuring durability and consistent performance at scale.
Diagnose and resolve database issues across multiple platforms, optimizing query efficiency, schema design, and instance configuration. You'll lead improvements in monitoring, alerting, and incident response to strengthen system reliability.
Collaborate with software and infrastructure teams to promote secure, efficient use of databases. Automate routine operations to minimize manual effort and enhance system stability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with relational databases, storage architectures, and data management systems
- Proven expertise administering Postgres, MySQL, SQL, and MongoDB at scale, including replication and clustering
- Strong working knowledge of AWS database services such as RDS, Aurora, ElasticCache, MongoDB Atlas, and S3
- Experience using Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure automation
- Demonstrated ability to guide developers on schema design, security practices, and large-scale migrations
- A focus on automation to reduce operational overhead and improve consistency
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with GitLab and GitHub's gh-ost for online schema changes
- Experience with custom automation frameworks for database operations
