About the Role
This role is for a Senior Platform Engineer who will design and maintain serverless infrastructure and platform systems to enhance underwriting efficiency. The engineer will contribute to technical roadmaps, improve deployment processes, and support a scalable, secure, multi-region architecture using modern cloud technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance a serverless web application that improves underwriter productivity, helping reduce operational costs and drive profitable growth for clients.
- Join the platform team focused on managing application infrastructure, monitoring, and continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Provide constructive input to product managers and internal teams to shape product direction and technical decisions.
- Collaborate on the development of technical and product roadmaps.
- Propose new features and system improvements grounded in technical feasibility and business needs.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with strong communication skills, customer focus, and alignment with core values.
- Extensive hands-on experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, Aurora Serverless, GCP Vertex AI, and BigQuery.
- Proven expertise with a broad range of AWS services including RDS Aurora Postgres, API Gateway, Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, SES, CloudFront, Secret Manager, and Certificate Manager.
- Experience designing and managing infrastructure across multiple cloud regions.
- Hands-on background with Terraform and Terragrunt, used in single-tenant deployment environments.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages, particularly Python.
- Solid experience using Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including VPC setup and security configurations.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with ECS and Fargate is beneficial.
- Experience designing both single-tenant and multi-tenant architectures.
- Background in building and managing Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS.
- Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines, specifically using CircleCI.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, including logs, APM, profiling, and application security.
- Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform is a bonus, though not required.
- Knowledge of GDPR-compliant system design.
- Experience developing event-driven, serverless applications.
- Exposure to tools like Cloudflare, Orca, or Vanta.
