About the Role
This position involves designing and implementing tailored educational plans for students requiring specialized instruction, ensuring academic progress through evidence-based strategies and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop customized lesson plans aligned with student learning goals
- Assess student progress using formal and informal evaluation methods
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and interventions
- Implement behavior support strategies as part of individual plans
- Communicate regularly with families about student development
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Use data to inform instructional decisions
- Support students in developing academic and self-regulation skills
- Ensure compliance with federal and state special education regulations
- Integrate assistive technology where appropriate
- Foster an inclusive and respectful classroom environment
- Coordinate related services with therapists and counselors
- Monitor student engagement and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Promote independence through structured routines
- Deliver small group and one-on-one instruction
- Model positive social interactions
