Standard Chartered is seeking a Specialist to join our Securities Services Operations (SSO) team. In this role, you will focus on Custody operations, Securities Settlements, and Corporate Actions, authorizing critical transactions, managing client communications, and ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory standards.

What You'll Do

• Authorize and control the dispatch of outgoing messages related to Corporate Actions in CAPE.
• Notify clients of Corporate Action events via SWIFT, fax, email, or other specified channels.
• Authorize responses to sub-custodians on exercised options based on client instructions and process account debits/credits.
• Authorize the proper collection and disbursement of entitlements from corporate action events.
• Authorize vouchers or Swift messages for fund transfers from/to Nostro accounts and across accounts.
• Investigate all types of breaks relating to Cash and Securities and other Inventory reconciliation exceptions.
• Ensure all timelines are met with accuracy per agreed SLA.
• Manage team members effectively, share knowledge, and develop individual skills.
• Train new joiners, provide updates on process changes, and incorporate changes in DOI.
• Drive towards automated control processes continually.
• Ensure proper functioning of day-to-day controls and timely resolution of risk issues.
• Ensure successful completion of BCP/DR tests at required frequencies.
• Escalate issues and coordinate communication to senior stakeholders.
• Manage performance and development of staff across the unit.
• Coordinate testing for new applications and processes relating to Corporate Actions.
• Handle Internal and External Auditors and clarify queries in a timely manner.
• Manage KCSA queries, update volumes in PS tool, and encourage participation in CSR activities.
• Support migration of new activities.
• Complete all mandatory e-learning as required.
• Ensure all control/operating procedures and documentation are properly followed.
• Ensure compliance with all established procedures, regulations, and Group Guidelines.
• Track changes affecting clients and communicate them proactively with impact analyses.
• Inform senior management of serious regulatory breaches or breached risk tolerances.

What We're Looking For

• 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills and good system skills.
• Experience working in a corporate action processing team and approving transactions.
• Knowledge of various types of corporate action and Swift message formatting.
• Ability to handle small teams.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Custody operations, Securities Settlements, Corporate Actions, or Financial Market Operations.
• Knowledge of Agent banking, Sub Custody operations, and clearing.
• Knowledge of allied products like Settlements, Fund services, and reference data.
