Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end litigation processes including initial case evaluation, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions to secure favorable outcomes.
- Collect, organize, and maintain case-related documents, evidence, and legal research for hearings, trials, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations.
- Research applicable laws, regulations, and legal precedents; create summaries and reports to support case strategy.
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal filings.
- Interview clients and witnesses, document their statements, and keep records of all communications.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and legal proceedings to observe or represent the company or clients in routine matters.
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations and advise the legal team on potential impacts to active cases.
- Participate in training and mentorship programs to build legal expertise and prepare for more complex work.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Completed coursework in legal research, writing, and analysis demonstrating ability to perform thorough research and draft clear legal documents.
- Demonstrates strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Able to organize case files, manage legal documents, and understand the discovery process.
- Skilled in client communication, preparing summaries, and maintaining accurate interaction records.
- Knowledgeable in legal ethics and professional conduct standards.
- Possesses foundational negotiation skills for client interactions and settlement discussions.
- Must live within commuting distance of courthouses in Los Angeles County and Orange County, California.
