Scout Motors is seeking a Specialist Material Planner to lead the launch of new suppliers and build a resilient supply chain for our production plants. You will be responsible for ensuring material availability from supplier to production line and will report to the Manager, Material Planning.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate in developing, designing, and implementing planning concepts and projects for material planning.
- Own the entire process from supplier to customer handover for high-risk, high-value parts and production materials.
- Identify potential supply chain risks early and develop cross-departmental countermeasures as part of bottleneck control.
- Clarify and sustainably eliminate problems within the Just-in-Time process.
- Establish ongoing, constructive, and cooperative communication with suppliers.
- Develop, monitor, and optimize material flow, delivery programs, and production programs with suppliers.
- Steer and monitor material flow from suppliers to the production line, analyze requirements, and identify bottlenecks.
- Develop and initiate emergency strategies for supply bottlenecks and agree on procedures for quick communication and decision-making.
- Collaborate with Purchasing to establish cross-departmental procedures ensuring on-time parts delivery based on supplier capacity and production demand.
- Plan and optimize internal and external processes to secure a strong supply chain across all production areas.
- Support internal and external resources in planning, executing, and optimizing logistics responsibilities for production material flow.
- Establish and agree on processes related to the introduction of parts technical modifications.
- Coordinate run-in & run-out parts to ensure supply chain capacity and avoid costs for obsolete material.
- Assume special tasks corresponding to the skills and duties of the role.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of professional experience in automotive production and logistics.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
- Strong technical skills in networking, hardware, and software systems as well as process design.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree.
- Experience in automotive logistics supplier management focused on JIS Processes.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to the Manager, Material Planning.

- Salary: $95,000 - $120,000
