About the Role
This position is responsible for overseeing distressed or complex asset accounts, developing resolution strategies, and working cross-functionally to maximize recovery and minimize financial risk.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of special assets with a focus on resolution and risk mitigation
- Evaluate financial performance and creditworthiness of assigned accounts
- Develop and execute strategic action plans for asset recovery
- Collaborate with legal and collections teams on enforcement actions
- Monitor compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements
- Prepare detailed reports on portfolio performance and trends
- Negotiate restructuring terms with borrowers or counterparties
- Assess collateral values and recommend disposition strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date account documentation
- Identify early warning signs of financial distress
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align on resolution goals
- Ensure adherence to risk management frameworks
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews and stress testing
- Support internal audits and examinations
- Drive process improvements within the special assets function
- Respond to inquiries from senior management and regulators
- Utilize financial modeling to support decision-making
- Manage relationships with external advisors and consultants
- Stay current on industry trends and economic factors affecting asset quality
- Escalate critical issues to leadership in a timely manner
