About the Role

The role involves leading the process for Safety of the Intended Functionality (SOTIF) across automated driving functions, identifying hazards, and ensuring risks are properly mitigated through technical solutions and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the SOTIF process for automated driving features
  • Identify hazardous scenarios related to system limitations
  • Analyze perception and decision-making edge cases
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define safety requirements
  • Develop strategies to address functional insufficiencies
  • Evaluate system performance under diverse operational conditions
  • Support validation and verification activities
  • Document safety cases and justification arguments
  • Work closely with functional safety and system architects
  • Ensure alignment with ISO 21448 standards
  • Conduct scenario-based risk assessments
  • Propose improvements to system robustness
  • Monitor emerging industry practices in SOTIF
  • Integrate safety feedback into development cycles
  • Support audit and certification processes
  • Clarify safety assumptions with cross-functional teams
  • Assess sensor limitations and environmental influences
  • Review test results for safety relevance
  • Contribute to safety dossiers for regulatory compliance
  • Facilitate safety reviews and technical discussions
