Responsibilities
- Engage directly with clients throughout the tender lifecycle to understand needs and expectations.
- Evaluate client specifications, including tender data and documents, and assess alignment with current operations to advise on business viability.
- Lead the planning and coordination of project bids, defining bid scope and consulting with regional and operational leaders.
- Collaborate with operations and specialist teams across all stages of tender development.
- Design efficient warehouse and transportation systems incorporating best practices in layout, equipment, routing, staffing, and technology.
- Create models to estimate required resources such as personnel, vehicles, facilities, and IT infrastructure for financial forecasting.
- Manage procurement and costing for outsourced services included in tender proposals.
- Work with finance to develop accurate profit and loss projections for proposed solutions.
- Produce financial and operational analyses comparing alternative approaches, including risk assessment.
- Develop comprehensive tender submissions and client presentations.
- Support the creation and refinement of marketing content for business development.
- Stay current with industry trends through professional memberships, events, and training.
- Assist in onboarding and developing junior team members within the business development function.

- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week.
- Occasional travel is required as part of the role responsibilities.
- The position can be based at any company depot located in the Midlands or North region.
