Ford is looking for a Solution Architect to shape the company’s digitization journey by developing strategic roadmaps and innovative technical solutions. This role supports the Global Order To Delivery / Order Fulfilment (Sales & Marketing) domain and involves collaboration with global business partners, architects, and product teams across different architecture layers.
What You'll Do
- Develop the future state of enterprise business processes, technology, and information by defining actions, generating roadmaps, and providing standards.
- Engage during strategic SDLC phases to define Strategy & Concepts and during implementation phases to define technical solutions.
- Perform proofs of concept, define solution and integration designs, consider security, and resolve issues.
- Develop artifacts such as business capability maps and value streams to bridge strategy and execution.
- Gather and document business requirements and support the creation of Business and Application Integration Models.
- Develop data models, create business process maps, user journey maps, and data flow integration diagrams.
- Guide business strategy formulation by defining business architecture with Blueprints.
- Apply strategy, raise integration issues and risks, and bring an outside-in perspective for analysis.
- Evaluate vendor products and solutions, facilitate results-driven meetings, and present ideas to management clearly.
- Research emerging business trends in Vehicle Order Fulfilment and Supply Chain Management.
- Create conceptual architecture designs from business requirements, evaluate non-functional requirements, and determine design patterns.
- Translate design proposals into proof of concept with hands-on development as required.
- Ensure solutions meet conceptual designs and align with strategic objectives.
- Guide product teams on microservice architecture and IT-operational processes, and support them on application performance issues.
- Engage with Product/Business teams to document business processes and coordinate with Product Anchors on solution design.
- Act as a key member of a product team participating in their agile ceremonies.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering field.
- 7+ years of overall IT experience.
- 3+ years of related business/IT experience with progressive architecture or engineering work, including hands-on Business Analysis or Product Design & Management.
- 4+ years of technical experience in application development and support.
- Recent 2-3 years in a role as a Product Anchor or Enterprise Architect.
- Strong business acumen in end-to-end supply chain management for Vehicle Sales, Production Planning, and Order Fulfilment.
- Ability to apply architectural principles to business solutions.
- Knowledge of EA Modelling tools and experience creating model-based representations.
- Expertise with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and Zachman.
- Expertise in creating business flows, business capability mappings, Blueprints, and E2E Landscape Views.
- Work experience with data modelling tools and techniques.
- Good knowledge and hands-on development experience with multiple technologies, especially Java, Cloud technologies (e.g., Angular/REACT), CloudSQL-PGSQL, Reporting tools, and patterns including GCP, APIs/microservices.
- Strong drive to follow ideas to their logical conclusion and present to management clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good exposure to presentation and data analysis tools like MS-PowerPoint, MS-Excel, and Visio.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to continuously learn, innovate, and grow self and team.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and plan and prioritize work.
Nice to Have
- Certification in TOGAF or any cloud architecture.
