About the Role

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing detailed project estimates by analyzing engineering plans, material requirements, labor needs, and site conditions specific to solar photovoltaic and battery storage installations.

Responsibilities

  • Review project blueprints, specifications, and site data to determine scope of work
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for utility-scale and commercial solar developments
  • Calculate material quantities and equipment needs based on design documents
  • Estimate labor hours and crew requirements for construction phases
  • Evaluate site-specific challenges impacting project costs
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to clarify design details affecting estimates
  • Prepare bid packages and support proposal submissions
  • Track and analyze historical project data to improve estimate accuracy
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to obtain pricing for specialized work
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of solar technology and storage system pricing
  • Ensure compliance with electrical and construction codes in all estimates
  • Forecast project timelines based on estimated workloads
  • Support project management during construction by validating original estimates
  • Document assumptions and methodologies used in each estimate
  • Update estimates as project designs evolve or change
  • Assess risks related to cost overruns and schedule delays
  • Use estimating software and tools to streamline processes
  • Provide input on constructability during early project stages
  • Verify accuracy of takeoffs and calculations before submission
