As a Software Upgrade Operations Field Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining the performance and security of mission-critical communication platforms through remote software upgrades. You'll coordinate directly with customers to plan and carry out system updates, ensuring minimal disruption to operations while keeping systems aligned with current release standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Remotely deploy and verify software upgrades across diverse customer infrastructures
- Collaborate with research and development teams to refine upgrade procedures for telephony and networked systems
- Diagnose and document technical issues encountered during field operations, escalating as needed
- Support configuration management across varied environments, including virtualized systems and physical hardware
- Develop and maintain technical documentation such as methods of procedure, alerts, and system bulletins
- Engage with stakeholders ranging from technical staff to executive leadership during deployment cycles
- Ensure system architecture integrity through careful implementation and validation
Qualifications
Candidates must have a high school diploma or bachelor’s degree in IT or Engineering, along with four years of hands-on experience in an IT or engineering setting. U.S. work authorization without sponsorship is required.
Technology Environment
Work involves Red Hat Linux systems, virtualization platforms, HP server hardware, analog and digital telephony, networking infrastructure, and both hardware and software technical support.
Work Model
This is a remote position with 25–50% travel expected to support field operations and customer coordination.
