Nokia is hiring a Software QA Engineer

Nokia is hiring a Software QA Engineer to play a key role in qualifying our optical networking systems. You will develop test plans and automation for Optical DWDM equipment, ensuring continuous execution and high-quality feature delivery.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to test plan development for Layer 0 (DWDM) and Layer 1 (OTN, Ethernet) based Long Haul, DCI, and Metro optical systems.
• Execute L0 and L1 protocol-based feature testing, including FCAPS, NBI Automation, and Security.
• Participate in the System Development Lifecycle, understand requirements, and develop detailed test plans.
• Qualify next-generation operating systems based on architectures like Microservices and Containers.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize test scenarios based on customer needs.
• Automate test scenarios using standard programming platforms to enable multiple executions and improve system quality.
• Be a self-driven professional capable of owning and delivering on product qualification.

What We're Looking For

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.
• 2-4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Prior experience in Embedded Optical Network Element System Testing, including OTN, Ethernet, GMPLS, DWDM, and NBI I/F features (CLI, NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC).
• Strong skills in test planning, execution, and issue tracking using configuration management systems.
• Expertise in Python programming (or an equivalent language) for automation development.
• Hands-on experience with NBI I/F-based embedded system features.
• Experience with standard process tools and configuration management like JIRA, Confluence, and GIT.

Nice to Have

• Working experience in system control plane or with L2/L3 products.
• Experience testing Microservices and Container-based applications is strongly desired.
