Wells Fargo is looking for a Lead Software Automation Engineer to spearhead complex, company-wide technology initiatives and play a key role in establishing enterprise standards and best practices for engineering large-scale solutions.
What You'll Do

- Design, code, test, debug, and document projects and programs.
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions to meet business objectives and address technical challenges.
- Make decisions on developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions.
- Collaborate with key technical experts, senior leadership, and external groups to resolve complex issues.
- Lead projects and teams, and serve as a peer mentor.
- Establish and maintain coding standards and best practices.
- Make informed decisions about technologies, programming languages, and frameworks.
- Lead and influence architectural and implementation decisions.
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Assist with task planning estimations.
- Write, review, and optimize code with risk, compliance, and non-functional requirements in mind.
- Oversee design, development, testing, and deployment of software.
- Proactively identify and address technical blockers and system improvements.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices to drive innovation.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, Angular/React.
- Knowledge of AI frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph.
- Experience with ML libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch, including building or training models and tuning hyperparameters.
- Experience in Generative AI technologies like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), including end-to-end pipelines with Vector DBs, chunking, embedding, and retrieval.
- Deep understanding of microservice-based distributed architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure & GCP), and infrastructure-as-code.
- Strong background in Data Science and Analysis, with ability to process and analyze data using tools like Hadoop and Spark.
- Ability to solve complex problems with ambiguous requirements, spot emerging tech trends, and drive Proof of Concepts.
- Well-versed in Agile development, Test Driven Development, and DevOps practices.
- Experience leveraging Rest/SOAP Web-APIs for integrations.
- Experience with enterprise CICD tooling like Harness and Jenkins.
- Expertise in enterprise tools like Ansible and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog), and Incident Management tools like Service Now.
- Self-motivated with genuine curiosity for continuous learning.
- Strong communication skills to foster effective communication at all levels.
