The Senior QA Automation Engineer will design and execute automated system-level testing for software products in the energy storage and smart grid sectors. This role supports the development of the GEMS Digital Energy Platform within an agile framework, focusing on quality assurance across back-end, front-end, and cloud components.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative methods and test strategies to automate system-level validation of software products.
- Enhance or build upon the current QA automation infrastructure to cover functional and performance testing across all product areas.
- Conduct testing across integrated systems involving back-end, front-end, and cloud technologies, aiming to increase both automated and manual test coverage over time.
- Gain in-depth understanding of the GEMS platform and related solutions to support testing of complex or new features in upcoming projects.
- Focus testing efforts on smart grid systems and renewable energy control applications and logic.
- Collaborate within an agile development process, aligning testing activities with iterative delivery cycles.
- Engage in discussions with customers, attend meetings, and support project execution from a quality assurance perspective.
Requirements
- Demonstrated dedication to software product quality and rigorous testing practices.
- Familiarity with system-level automation frameworks, tools, and associated libraries.
- Proven experience in testing across back-end, front-end, and cloud-based technologies.
- Ability to diagnose software defects and determine root causes through systematic troubleshooting.
- Skill in evaluating which tests provide the most value when automated versus those better suited for manual execution.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming for test development and automation.
- Effective communication abilities and experience in creating clear, well-structured documentation.
- Working knowledge of Linux, Docker, and standard system administration tools.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking principles and configurations.
- Hands-on experience in agile environments using tools such as JIRA and Git for tracking and version control.
- Adaptability in fast-paced settings with shifting priorities and timelines.

- Familiarity with or interest in electrical systems, power grids, or renewable and sustainable energy technologies is beneficial.
