Altera seeks a Software Performance Engineer to join our software team. In this role, you will partner with Intel customers, ecosystem software vendors, and the open-source community to develop, integrate, test, tune, debug, optimize, and differentiate software.
What You'll Do
- Develop, integrate, test, tune, debug, optimize, and differentiate software in partnership with customers, vendors, and the open-source community.
- Act as a technical expert or trusted advisor to drive Intel value and differentiation across various market segments.
- Research, develop, and prototype software that leverages and drives adoption of Intel product capabilities.
- Evangelize software tools and technologies to the ecosystem to enable and support Intel products.
- Deliver collateral and training, including competitive/differentiated benchmarks.
- Identify and drive key workloads into product requirements and landing zones for future product design.
- Drive product improvements that minimize the need for explicit enabling and maximize scale adoption.
What We're Looking For
- A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field with 3+ years of experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience.
- Solid skills in at least two of the following languages: Java, Scala, C, C++.
- Basic English communication skills for international collaboration.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to clearly communicate technical details.
- Proficient in big data frameworks such as Spark, Flink, and Hadoop.
- A solid track record in performance optimization on sophisticated distributed software stacks.
- Rich experience in open-source project contributions (e.g., Apache, Linux Foundation), especially with performance patches and contributions.
