About the Role

Digital Trendteam is hiring a Software Engineering Senior Analyst to join the Evernorth team. In this role, you will focus on database management, performance tuning, and development for critical healthcare systems. You’ll ensure our data infrastructure is secure, compliant, and highly performant, directly supporting our mission to relentlessly innovate and make the prediction, prevention, and treatment of illness and disease more accessible to millions of people.

What You'll Do

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases hosted on Amazon RDS and Oracle PL/SQL databases.
  • Optimize SQL Server and Oracle PL/SQL performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficient database operations.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing.
  • Develop and execute database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Keep SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL, and AWS RDS instances up to date with the latest patches and updates.
  • Scale database resources as needed and perform capacity planning.
  • Set up monitoring and alerting systems using AWS CloudWatch and other tools.
  • Implement automation scripts and workflows for routine database tasks and maintenance.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with application developers, system administrators, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Develop database objects like Packages, Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, and other PL/SQL objects.
  • Perform query optimization and performance tuning using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, and table partitioning.
  • Handle Oracle XML/JSON/CLOB data and work with large volumes of data.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience as a Database Developer.
  • 4+ years of experience with Oracle and Postgres database development.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Amazon RDS and its features, including automated backups, patching, and scalability.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PowerShell, or other scripting languages for automation.
  • Understanding of database security principles, including encryption, access controls, and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Experience with database monitoring and alerting tools, such as AWS CloudWatch.
  • Knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies, including point-in-time recovery and high availability solutions.
  • Ability to assess database resource requirements and plan for scaling.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving database issues.
  • Ability to maintain clear and comprehensive documentation.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Very good programming experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer.

Nice to Have

  • AWS and SQL Server certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator).
  • Python experience.
  • Knowledge of Linux.
  • Experience working within the healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific IT systems and industry regulations, such as Electronic Health Record systems and HIPAA.
  • Exposure to Gen AI and Cloud systems like AWS.
