Belvo is looking for a Software Engineer (Backend) to join our highly-technical team. You will design, develop, and maintain secure private and public APIs for our aggregation products and lead the full lifecycle of AI services.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, and maintain private and public facing APIs for innovative aggregation products with a solid Security focus.
Lead full-lifecycle development—ideation, prototyping, evaluation, iteration, deployment, and maintenance of AI services.
Adopt a customer-focused mindset, proactively understanding and tackling potential API improvements and customer pain points.
Implement automated quality assurance and monitoring modules.

What We're Looking For

2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs.
Professional experience with Python.
Appreciation for good documentation, internal and external.
Detail-oriented and well-organized developer, coding so others can read and work with your code.
Willingness to solve difficult and demanding problems.
Eager to learn new AI technologies and tools to empower our products.
Proficient in written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

Fintech and SaaS past experiences.
Security-first engineering mindset.
Past experience with Django and Django Rest Framework.
Contributed to building and maintaining LLM-powered systems in production settings.
Comfortable working with frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, OpenAI SDKs, or PydanticAI and applying them in context.
Familiar with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and its design considerations.
Experience working with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures or vector databases.
