About the job: The Ansible Networking division at Red Hat is seeking a Software Engineer to enhance Ansible Networking content for the Automation Platform in Bangalore, India. This role involves collaborating with global engineers to create, evaluate, and support Ansible collections enabling enterprise network automation. You'll contribute to community projects and product releases, demonstrating passion for networking and automation technologies while working closely with cross-functional teams. What will you do? - Create, develop, and maintain Ansible Networking collections for the Automation Platform - Engage in sprint planning, development, and release cycles for networking content - Collaborate with leadership to understand and deliver product roadmap objectives - Guarantee Ansible collections meet rigorous quality and security standards - Partner with documentation and support teams for seamless release delivery - Interact with open-source community by contributing code and integrating feedback - Rapidly address and resolve customer-reported issues - Diagnose and improve codebase performance and maintainability - Monitor emerging automation and networking technology trends - Operate within an Agile development environment What will you bring? - Computer science degree or equivalent - Minimum 2 years software development experience, preferably in Python - Knowledge of Ansible or comparable automation frameworks - Understanding of CI/CD principles and practical tooling experience - Advanced problem-solving and debugging capabilities - Comprehensive networking fundamental comprehension - Experience with agile/scrum methodologies - Capability to collaborate across global teams - Proficiency with AI development tools Bonus Qualifications: - Open-source development model expertise - Familiarity with enterprise networking platforms - Understanding of YANG models and network configuration management - Enterprise software development and testing background - Customer and community interaction experience - Advanced Agile methodology understanding About Red Hat Red Hat is a global enterprise open-source software leader, delivering innovative Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
