Acorns is hiring a Social Media Manager

About the Role

Lead Acorns' social media presence to flip the script on financial content, turning scrolling into investing. You will develop and execute social strategy across platforms like Instagram and TikTok to grow community and drive financial wellness conversations for the Acorns brand.

What You'll Do

  • Implement and lead social strategy for Acorns and Acorns Early that connects to larger marketing and business goals.
  • Grow and evolve Acorns' social media presence across Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other emerging platforms.
  • Develop, manage, and execute a dynamic content calendar across priority channels.
  • Own the Acorns voice on social and collaborate across marketing, creative, and product teams.
  • Lead day-to-day community management, fostering a strong, engaged community.
  • Collaborate with creative partners to produce social-first content.
  • Stay ahead of trends and integrate Acorns into relevant finance, investing, and fintech conversations.
  • Source and share impactful customer stories that show the real-life impact of investing.
  • Scope and manage creators as needed for social content and partnerships.
  • Analyze and report on social performance to optimize strategy.
  • Actively pitch and execute thumb-stopping brand ideas across social media channels.

What We're Looking For

  • 5 - 8+ years experience in social media for a brand, personal projects, or freelance work.
  • A strong portfolio of engaging content, including short-form videos, Reels, and TikToks.
  • Hands-on experience managing social channels and creating digital content that resonates.
  • A deep understanding of social trends & culture.
  • On-camera presence with authenticity, wit, humor, confidence, and enthusiasm.
  • Proven creative development skills.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills.
  • Creative and strategic thinking.
  • A self-starter mindset to ideate, produce, and edit engaging content.
  • Deep empathy and passion for the customer and their experience with Acorns.
  • Exceptional change management capabilities and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Thirst for delivering game-changing products.
  • Exceptional drive and precision in delivery.
  • A belief that your work is tied to your life's mission.
  • Optimistic about the potential of societal change.

Nice to Have

  • Fintech or finance knowledge is a plus, but not required.

Team & Environment

This role reports to the Director of Brand Marketing.

  • Compensation: $95,000 and $105,000/year + equity: stock options

Work Mode

This is a remote-first role. Optional office space is available in Irvine, CA.
