The Site Manager oversees GIS substation construction projects on-site, serving as the central contact for clients, regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and internal teams. This role ensures daily operations run efficiently, adheres to technical and safety standards, and delivers projects according to cost, timeline, and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, authorities, subcontractors, and project staff on all technical and administrative issues
- Manage day-to-day site activities and supervise construction teams to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor and control project performance across cost, schedule, technical execution, health safety and environment (HSE), and quality assurance
- Ensure adherence to local laws, industry standards, and project-specific guidelines
- Maintain regular communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal support teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in on-site project management
- In-depth knowledge of installing and commissioning electrical systems, including medium and low voltage switchgear, transformers, and gas-insulated switchgear (GIS)
- Strong organizational capabilities with proven experience coordinating multiple teams and managing project scopes
- Fluency in English is required
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with F-gas regulations and safety protocols for handling pressurized hazardous materials is beneficial
- Knowledge of German is a plus
