About the Role

This position involves delivering civil engineering solutions for site development, including grading, drainage, utilities, and regulatory compliance, from concept through construction.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review civil site plans for land development projects
  • Conduct grading and drainage analyses using engineering software
  • Develop permitting documentation for local and state agencies
  • Perform calculations for stormwater management and erosion control
  • Collaborate with surveyors and geotechnical specialists
  • Support construction observation and field verification
  • Review contractor submittals and shop drawings
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards
  • Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines
  • Produce construction drawings and technical specifications
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables for civil scope
  • Participate in client meetings and design coordination sessions
  • Revise designs based on feedback and site conditions
  • Utilize CAD and civil design software for drafting and modeling
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions
  • Evaluate utility routing and infrastructure integration
  • Assist in environmental permitting efforts
  • Apply sustainable design practices where feasible
  • Maintain project documentation and design records
  • Support quality assurance and quality control processes
  • Address construction-phase engineering questions
  • Prepare as-built documentation
  • Work within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Follow safety protocols during site inspections
  • Stay current with changes in local development regulations
