This position involves delivering civil engineering solutions for site development, including grading, drainage, utilities, and regulatory compliance, from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review civil site plans for land development projects
- Conduct grading and drainage analyses using engineering software
- Develop permitting documentation for local and state agencies
- Perform calculations for stormwater management and erosion control
- Collaborate with surveyors and geotechnical specialists
- Support construction observation and field verification
- Review contractor submittals and shop drawings
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards
- Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines
- Produce construction drawings and technical specifications
- Manage project timelines and deliverables for civil scope
- Participate in client meetings and design coordination sessions
- Revise designs based on feedback and site conditions
- Utilize CAD and civil design software for drafting and modeling
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions
- Evaluate utility routing and infrastructure integration
- Assist in environmental permitting efforts
- Apply sustainable design practices where feasible
- Maintain project documentation and design records
- Support quality assurance and quality control processes
- Address construction-phase engineering questions
- Prepare as-built documentation
- Work within multidisciplinary project teams
- Follow safety protocols during site inspections
- Stay current with changes in local development regulations
