About the Role

Join a global rail technology team as a Signalling Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer, responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and reliability of advanced railway signalling systems. Working within a simulated laboratory environment, you will play a key role in testing, analyzing, and validating critical system logic, particularly for IXL SubSystems through cover and static analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and execute test procedures in a controlled simulation environment
  • Analyze and verify signalling logic to ensure technical accuracy and system integrity
  • Support validation planning, organization, and execution across project lifecycles
  • Ensure all activities align with CENELEC standards, project timelines, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols
  • Produce detailed test documentation, reports, and configuration records
  • Diagnose, isolate, and resolve issues within system components and subsystems
  • Maintain software and documentation configurations in the lab environment

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Electronic, Informatic, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A foundational understanding of railway signalling principles is required, along with hands-on experience in software development using languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.

  • Proven experience in testing and validation processes within engineering projects
  • Strong grasp of hardware and software system architectures
  • Experience in structural analysis and systematic problem solving
  • Ability to thrive in multi-functional, international teams
  • Fluency in English is essential for cross-border collaboration
  • Adaptability in matrix project environments with strong communication skills

Work Environment

This role is based onsite in either Genoa or Naples, Italy, with no remote work option.
