Responsibilities
- Handles physical and administrative tasks involved in shipping and receiving materials, supplies, equipment, and finished goods via freight or third-party carriers
- Verifies shipments against documentation, packages items per requirements, prepares shipping paperwork, logs weights and costs, and labels packages with instructions
- Unloads delivery vehicles, inspects incoming items against shipping documents for type and amount, and keeps accurate records of received goods
- Completes diverse routine tasks supporting production operations following established protocols
- Keeps essential records and documentation organized and up to date
- Uses hand tools and operates material movement equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move and position materials
- Communicates clearly with clients, vendors, customer service teams, and production staff
- Develops strong working relationships across departments, coordinating resources to handle, store, and ship products efficiently and cost-effectively
- Supports supervisors with team tasks, training initiatives, safety programs, and special assignments
- Follows all safety rules, quality benchmarks, and organizational policies
- Reports issues, risks, or unsafe conditions to leadership promptly
- Examines products or shipments to confirm they meet required specifications
- Attends production meetings or consults with other units when needed to align logistics activities
- Keeps the work area tidy and secure, including monitoring dock door access
- Ensures awareness and achievement of defined quality goals and principles
- Operates a delivery van locally when required, maintaining vehicle safety and adhering to all legal regulations
