Responsibilities
- Handles packaging and dispatch of customer samples, parts, and completed products via carriers such as FedEx, UPS, USPS, or similar services
- Keeps required records and paperwork organized and up to date
- Uses hand tools, scales, and metering devices, and relies on hand trucks to transport materials
- Verifies shipments against shipping documents and authorization forms
- Packages items for transit in accordance with specified guidelines
- Creates and prepares bills of lading for outgoing shipments
- Records weight details and shipping costs
- Labels packages with necessary information and shipping directions
- May assist in receiving operations, including unloading incoming goods
- Confirms incoming items match bills of lading, packing slips, and other documentation
- Checks received goods for correct identification and quantity
- Logs incoming shipments into inventory or tracking systems
- Identifies and sets aside damaged, surplus, or incorrectly delivered items
- Directs received materials to inspection areas, storage, or other designated locations
