Responsibilities
- Install, disconnect, test, repair, and maintain fiber infrastructure as part of network deployment.
- Interact directly with customers during on-site visits to ensure prompt and effective service activation.
- Execute installations using various techniques, including routing cable through walls and optimal placement strategies.
- Conduct fiber drops from handholes to residences under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Support team activities involving mainline and drop fiber installation with oversight.
- Gain familiarity with data center layouts and core equipment components.
- Perform basic diagnostics to detect and resolve connectivity problems between homes and access points.
- Assemble splice domes and install express domes under supervision.
- Learn and apply conduit continuity and optical signal testing during installation tasks.
- Carry out routine network repairs, including troubleshooting at network interface devices and handholes.
- Recognize and follow utility locate procedures to ensure safe digging practices.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
