About the Role

The attorney will engage in high-impact litigation to defend constitutional limits on government authority, with an emphasis on separation of powers doctrine. Responsibilities include developing case strategy, drafting legal briefs, representing clients in court, and collaborating with legal and policy experts.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research on constitutional law and administrative law issues
  • Draft motions, briefs, and appellate arguments for federal and state courts
  • Represent clients in litigation challenging government overreach
  • Develop case strategy in coordination with senior attorneys
  • Advocate before trial and appellate courts
  • Collaborate with policy and communications teams on litigation impact
  • Identify and pursue new cases that advance constitutional principles
  • Engage with clients to understand legal grievances
  • Monitor regulatory actions for potential legal challenges
  • Publish legal analyses and commentary on separation of powers issues
  • Participate in oral argument preparation
  • Manage case files and litigation timelines
  • Respond to opposing counsel filings
  • Work with expert witnesses when necessary
  • Travel as needed for depositions, hearings, and client meetings
  • Stay current on developments in constitutional jurisprudence
  • Support amicus brief coordination in key appellate cases
  • Assist in training junior legal staff
  • Contribute to strategic planning for litigation initiatives
  • Maintain professional conduct in all legal proceedings
