Lead the voice and content strategy for a growing educational network committed to transforming student outcomes. As the Senior Writer & Content Strategist, you'll craft clear, compassionate, and impactful messaging that strengthens trust with families and aligns internal teams. Your writing will bridge complex academic and operational updates into accessible, human-centered communication that reflects deep care and purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine high-volume communications for families, including enrollment materials, newsletters, website content, and informational guides
- Translate policy and program updates into straightforward, emotionally resonant messaging that fosters inclusion and connection
- Write and edit internal communications to ensure consistency, clarity, and timely delivery across school and network teams
- Ghostwrite speeches, opinion pieces, and executive communications in the authentic voice of senior leaders
- Review and enhance press materials from external partners to maintain narrative integrity and tone
- Manage multiple writing projects from concept to completion using structured workflows in Asana
- Integrate feedback efficiently and evolve content through revision without losing momentum
- Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to shape editorial calendars and messaging frameworks
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a lean, high-impact environment and support broader team goals as needed
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Public Policy, or a related discipline, and bring 7–10 years of professional writing experience in fast-moving, mission-focused settings. A strong portfolio demonstrating clarity, structure, and audience awareness across formats is essential. You must have a proven ability to deliver polished work under tight deadlines, with experience ghostwriting for executives and managing concurrent projects independently.
Comfort balancing strategic vision with precise execution is critical. A growth mindset, attention to detail, and openness to feedback are expected. Prior experience in K–12 or charter education is valued but not required.
