EX Squared is looking for a Senior Underwriting Counsel to provide expert legal analysis and risk assessment for complex real estate transactions. You will be a key contributor in a remote-first environment.
What You'll Do
- Analyze title commitments, surveys, and legal documents to identify and assess risk
- Draft and issue title insurance policies and endorsements for commercial and residential transactions
- Provide clear, actionable underwriting guidance and support to internal teams and external agents
- Review and resolve complex title defects and litigation matters
- Stay current on regulatory changes, legal precedents, and industry best practices
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law
- 5+ years of direct underwriting counsel experience with a title insurance company
- Deep expertise in real estate law, title insurance underwriting, and curative procedures
- Proven ability to independently analyze complex legal and title issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Work Mode
This is a fully remote position. You will collaborate with a distributed team using modern communication and project management tools.
