You will defend claims involving bodily injury, property damage, subrogation, and financial disputes, with direct courtroom responsibilities including trials, mediations, and arbitrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage litigation from intake through resolution, preparing and arguing pre- and post-trial motions, depositions, and hearings
- Advise internal business units on legal risks and compliance, translating evolving regulations into practical guidance
- Collaborate with legal teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and ensure consistent case management
- Monitor changes in state and federal laws, assess impact on operations, and recommend responsive actions
- Support cross-functional legal projects, enhancing coordination and efficiency across departments
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Juris Doctorate and be an active member in good standing with the California State Bar. A minimum of four years of litigation experience is required, with demonstrated ability in case strategy, legal research, and courtroom advocacy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research platforms such as LexisNexis is essential. Experience in insurance defense and first or second chair jury trials is highly valued.
