Responsibilities
- Lead project teams through the development of preliminary engineering, detailed design, and quantification of transportation projects.
- Ensure deliverables and quality standards are met in accordance with the agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
- Manage and support internal and client cross-functional teams.
- Leverage existing relationships and new client and consultant relationships in the pursuit of new work.
- Actively participate in professional societies, organizations, and conferences by serving on boards, presenting at luncheons or conferences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Active PE License in Florida.
- Ability and willingness to obtain PE licensure in other states through comity.
- 15 or more years of experience in transportation engineering.
- Must be able to travel 5-10% to client sites.
- Familiarity with FDOT Design Manual (FDM) – Development & Processes and Design Criteria
- Experience following FDOT Project Management Guide (PMG) for project delivery
- Working knowledge of FDOT Standard Specifications and Standard Plans
- Understanding of FDOT Traffic Engineering Manual (TEM) and Florida Greenbook (as applicable)
- Experience coordinating FDOT project components including PD&E, utilities, drainage, traffic, and right-of-way
- Software Experience will vary but could include: OpenRoads / MicroStation; FDOTConnect familiarity; Understanding of Bentley-based workflows across disciplines; AASHTOWare; Synchro/Vissim; ArcGIS; Bluebeam; Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams)
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Understanding of the financial management of engineering projects (profit and loss management).
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals.
- Interest in unique challenges requiring creative solutions

- FDOT prequalification (or experience supporting prequalified projects)
- Florida PE licensure
