About the Role
This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with international trade regulations in sourcing activities, providing guidance on import/export controls, and supporting audits and documentation processes across global supply chains.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret changes in international trade laws and regulations
- Support compliance in procurement and sourcing activities across borders
- Assist in classifying goods under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule
- Prepare and review documentation for import and export shipments
- Collaborate with sourcing teams to ensure vendor adherence to trade requirements
- Identify and mitigate risks related to trade compliance
- Conduct audits of trade documentation and processes
- Support responses to government agency inquiries
- Maintain records in line with customs and trade regulations
- Provide training to procurement and supply chain staff on compliance topics
- Work with legal and logistics teams on cross-border transactions
- Ensure adherence to country of origin rules and trade agreements
- Track and report on key compliance metrics
- Support due diligence for new suppliers in international markets
- Stay current with regulatory updates from U.S. Customs and other agencies
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in international business or law
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- Experience with Automated Export System (AES) filings
- Working knowledge of SAP GTS
- Prior work with global customs brokers
