As a Senior Technical Writer, you will take ownership of the end-to-end documentation lifecycle for a suite of cybersecurity solutions. You'll define documentation strategy, establish content standards, and implement scalable systems using structured authoring frameworks such as DITA and Docbook XML. Your work will ensure that complex technical information is clearly communicated to developers, administrators, and end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and maintenance of API references, administrator manuals, design specifications, and user guides
- Design and manage structured content architectures using XML, Markdown, and DITA
- Build and maintain automated publishing pipelines with Git and Jenkins for continuous integration
- Write and maintain XSLT scripts to transform documentation into multiple output formats
- Collaborate closely with software engineering, QA, and product teams to gather technical details and validate accuracy
- Align documentation timelines with Agile development sprints and iterative release cycles
- Develop editorial guidelines and validation processes for AI-assisted content generation
- Apply compliance markings such as CUI, ITAR, and EAR to sensitive documentation
- Structure content to support AI-powered search and knowledge retrieval systems
- Review and edit contributions from other writers and subject matter experts
Qualifications
You bring at least seven years of experience writing technical documentation for software or security-focused products. You have deep familiarity with structured authoring environments, including Oxygen XML Editor or MadCap Flare, and a proven ability to simplify complex technical concepts. Proficiency in Markdown, Git-based workflows, and XSLT is essential. You’ve worked within Agile teams and understand how to synchronize documentation with rapid development cycles.
Preferred experience includes handling export-controlled documentation and following regulatory submission practices. Knowledge of AI-driven documentation tools and experience guiding their responsible use is highly valued.
