Investment Bench India is hiring a Senior Technical Writer to join a cross-functional development team engineering the experience of tomorrow. You will support our Cloud and Production Engineering teams by documenting highly technical, internal-facing systems, transforming complex engineering contexts into clear, concise, and findable documentation.
What You'll Do
- Create clear, concise, and easy-to-understand user assistance and how-to guides for internal systems.
- Organize content logically using Topic-Based Authoring principles to improve findability and ensure a logical flow for developer-focused material.
- Ensure all documentation follows specific internal templates and high-level technical writing standards.
- Proactively schedule and manage interviews with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), overcoming challenges related to limited SME availability.
- Ensure user assistance correctness by leading the draft-to-publish process through rigorous stakeholder reviews.
- Maintain a professional balance between graphics and text, utilizing tools to create technical diagrams that complement written content.
- Act as a team player by joining sync calls and overseeing project progress across various engineering stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience working as a Technical Writer within the software engineering domain.
- Comfort documenting internal-facing systems.
- Strong familiarity with Cloud computing and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
- Exceptional ability to grasp an abundance of technical context in a short timeframe.
- Expertise in procedural writing (installation and troubleshooting).
- Strong adherence to Information Architecture and Topic-Based Authoring.
- Proficiency in Confluence and GitHub as primary documentation environments.
- Familiarity with Jira for tracking deliverables.
- Experience with Lucidchart, Visio, or draw.io for creating diagrams.
- Patient and persistent in gathering details from busy developers.
- Ability to work independently to drive project deliverables forward.
- Strong interviewing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with senior engineering stakeholders.
