We are hiring a Technical Writer to perform foundational documentation tasks in support of technical teams, program requirements, and internal business operations. This entry-level position works under close supervision, following established guidelines to create clear and consistent documentation.
What You'll Do
- Draft, format, and revise technical documents based on source materials provided by subject matter experts
- Edit content for grammar, style, and consistency using standard templates
- Assist in maintaining document repositories and file version control
- Support preparation of training guides, help manuals, SOPs, and visual materials
- Attend meetings to capture and compile notes into summary documents
- Follow internal guidelines and contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation practices
- Collaborate with team members to gather data and clarify content requirements
- Track status of assigned documentation tasks and report updates to supervisor
What We're Looking For
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years’ experience in an administrative, clerical, or writing-focused role
- Strong written communication and proofreading skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and PDF editing tools
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
Nice to Have
- Associate’s degree or coursework in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field
- Experience supporting a federal contractor or defense program
- Familiarity with SharePoint or collaborative document systems
- Exposure to style guides such as Chicago Manual of Style or Microsoft Manual of Style
