Responsibilities
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for Stay22’s API Platform, leading the transition from fragmented internal systems to a cohesive, scalable platform aligned with company objectives, vertical expansion, and AI-driven initiatives.
- Drive a clear 3-phase platform roadmap: Enable reliable internal microservices communication, Power Stay22’s frontend and internal products, Externalize and monetize APIs for partners and enterprise customers.
- Lead the API as a Product vision by transforming internal assets (inventories, pricing logic, analytics) into well-defined, reliable, and monetizable API products for internal teams, partners, and third-party developers.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Data, Supply, and Platform teams to define API standards, versioning, documentation, security, and developer experience — while avoiding tight coupling and long-term dependencies.
- Support AI agent initiatives, including defining MCP server strategy and requirements for Stay22-developed agents published on third-party marketplaces, unlocking new distribution and acquisition channels.
- Own discovery, prioritization, and success metrics, balancing developer needs, scalability, security, compliance and commercial opportunities, and measuring platform health, adoption, and business impact.
- Act as a cross-functional translator, making platform value, progress, and tradeoffs clear to leadership, product teams, and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Product Management experience, with strong exposure to technical platforms, APIs, data products, or developer tools
- Comfort discussing APIs and platform tradeoffs with senior engineers (REST vs GraphQL, auth flows, rate limiting, payload design)
- Strong intuition for what makes a great developer experience, from documentation to onboarding and tooling
- Experience navigating high ambiguity and turning complex systems into clear product strategy and priorities
- Ability to use both quantitative signals (latency, usage, reliability) and qualitative feedback (developer friction) to guide decisions
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences

- Familiarity with LLMs, RAG, MCP, or AI agent ecosystems is a strong plus
