Nordex SE is hiring a Senior Technical Advisor to directly support our mission of developing and delivering clean energy plants. This role is crucial for ensuring HSE compliance, guiding and advising the client's Balance of Plant (BOP) contractor to meet required quality standards during wind turbine installation and finishing. You will provide specialized technical expertise and advice on the mechanical and electrical installations of Nordex wind turbines and their components.
What You'll Do
- Proactively ensure HSE compliance throughout the WTG installation and finishing process, reporting any deviations.
- Advise the client's BOP contractor on adhering to Nordex quality standards for a smooth handover to commissioning, customer, and service teams.
- Leverage strong technical knowledge to provide general support for all mechanical and electrical activities of the client's BOP contractor and Nordex subcontractors.
- Document and report any quality or time deviations noted during WTG/WF installation, finishing, and commissioning work using the UPVISE system.
- Ensure all mechanical work is performed according to installation instructions and tooling maintenance requirements, informing of any deviations.
- Oversee the receipt, use, and return of Nordex tooling, ensuring it is used and ready throughout the project.
- Perform various inspections and quality checks such as incoming goods, quality gate, and customer visits to ensure compliance with project standards and specifications.
- Assist in managing the necessary documentation for handover to the client and the BOP contractor.
- Establish and maintain a positive relationship with the client's BOP contractor to facilitate proper project execution.
- Actively manage daily UPVISE progress reports, providing live updates on supervised activities.
What We're Looking For
- Associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related discipline, or accepted equivalent work experience.
- Experience in quality management and control processes.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in mechanical, electrical, or construction fields.
- Required experience in onsite WTG assembly.
- Excellent technical knowledge, communication skills, and ability to build positive relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite required.
- Must be able to work in Canada without company sponsorship and have the ability to obtain a US passport.
- >80% travel required.
- Ability to spend 100% of time in wind farms during the construction process.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under our automobile insurance policy.
- Ability to meet the weight requirement of 120 kg (265 lb) or less to safely use climbing equipment and gear.
- Ability to successfully satisfy all Canadian regulatory laws regarding pre-employment screening requirements.
Nice to Have
- Wind turbine assembly experience preferred.
- Mechanical wind farm construction experience preferred.
- French language proficiency is strongly preferred for work in Québec.
