Responsibilities
- Prepare and verify federal, state, and local tax filings for individual taxpayers using Form 1040
- Prepare and verify federal, state, and local tax filings for partnership entities using Form 1065
- Prepare and verify federal, state, and local tax filings for S Corporation clients using Form 1120-S
- Prepare and verify federal, state, and local tax filings for C Corporations using Form 1120
- Prepare and verify federal, state, and local tax filings for trusts and estates using Form 1041
- Evaluate financial records and source documents to ensure accurate tax reporting
- Identify potential tax-saving opportunities and help execute strategies to reduce client tax obligations
- Conduct in-depth tax research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving tax legislation and regulations
- Interact directly with clients to gather documentation, respond to inquiries, and offer guidance
- Review tax work product from entry-level team members and provide training and mentorship
- Manage multiple client engagements and meet critical deadlines during busy tax periods
- Respond to inquiries and notices from the IRS and state tax authorities, including audit support
- Support senior staff with special assignments and advisory initiatives
Compensation
This role offers a competitive salary between $85,000 and $100,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
Work Arrangement
Remote — Charlotte, NC (candidates must align with US East Coast time zone)
