Nearmap is hiring a Senior Systems Administrator

Nearmap is hiring a Senior Systems Administrator to take accountability for the availability of our corporate systems and the management of our internal applications. You’ll be a key player in maintaining our office infrastructure and advancing our security posture in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

What You'll Do

• Ensure the availability and uptime of all corporate systems, including routers, switches, phones, firewalls, cloud components, workstations, and laptops.
• Manage internal applications like Active Directory, Office 365, Jira, Confluence, Teams, Okta, and Workato, including user access management.
• Maintain physical office infrastructure, including the setup of workstations and desk moves as directed.
• Adopt and implement best security practices aligned with frameworks like NIST/SOC2, covering areas such as data loss prevention, intrusion detection, event logging, and firewall policies.
• Create and maintain accurate, detailed documentation for work instructions and internal procedures.
• Aid other members of the team where needed and mentor other staff members.
• Work with local vendors to ensure equipment meets Nearmap standards.
• Drive automation for all aspects of our systems administration work.

What We're Looking For

• Operating system experience across Windows, Mac OS, and Linux.
• 5+ years of hands-on System Administration experience.
• Exposure to scripting languages such as Bash and PowerShell.
• Proficiency with Office365, Active Directory (including Group Policy), and Okta.
• Experience with MDM solutions like Kandji and Intune.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure deployment and management, specifically AWS.
• Networking and firewall administration experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills across all levels of the business.
• A strong awareness of data security principles.
• Excellent technical documentation skills.
• Experience with automation using low-code tools and APIs.
