ANDRITZ GROUP is hiring a Senior Specialist Export Control & Commodity Classification for a key role at our Regensburg location. You will assume technical responsibility for export control processes and commodity classification, making critical decisions on high-risk business transactions and managing our core compliance systems.
What You'll Do
- Take technical ownership of export control processes (compliance with AWG/AWV, EU Dual-Use Regulation, and potentially US regulations), including governance for sanctions list/embargo screenings, end-use, and critical end-uses.
- Make technical decisions and approvals for high-risk business transactions and manage escalations.
- Lead commodity classification: define guidelines, methods, and reviews for customs tariff classifications (HS/KN) and dual-use classifications; create reasoning for discrepancies, evaluate contentious cases; independently handle authority proceedings, BAFA inquiries, and customs matters.
- Maintain process and system authority for SAP / ASAP-GTS rules (list/tariff data providers, check objects, separation of C-/S-business), defining check depths and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate and steer internal audits/ICP measures as well as AEO requirements.
- Independently create management reporting and KPIs.
- Provide technical guidance to colleagues, define standards and check depths, design training, and be responsible for technical review of critical cases (four-eyes / multi-eyes principle).
- Grant technical approvals in complex cases and be responsible for escalation and coordination with Legal and authorities.
What We're Looking For
- Completed apprenticeship as a freight forwarding merchant or a commercial apprenticeship with freight forwarding and/or export experience.
- Extensive, domain-specific further qualifications (e.g., courses/certificate courses in export control, customs practice, compliance customs criminal law / customs sanctions).
- Several years of professional experience in a comparable role.
- Independent, structured, and service-oriented working style.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Social competence and assertiveness.
- Good knowledge of English.
