Merkle (Dentsu) is hiring a Senior Social Media Strategist to lead the organic development and growth of client communities across social platforms. In this role, you will generate data-driven strategies to achieve business objectives, develop content pillars and calendars, analyze performance, and provide thought leadership.
What You'll Do
- Generate data-first strategies to achieve and improve client business and communications objectives.
- Lead the organic development and growth of communities and activities across client social ecosystems.
- Liaise with writers and designers to ensure content is informative, on-strategy, and appealing.
- Develop content pillars and social calendars aligned with KPIs, business objectives, and marketing priorities.
- Research, craft, and publish interactive and provoking content that encourages community participation.
- Help identify influencers and seek user-generated content when appropriate.
- Define KPIs, benchmarks, and metrics to evaluate and increase social media presence and goals.
- Define and improve community management and content development processes.
- Proactively escalate issues, trends, opportunities, and insights through relevant channels.
- Analyze performance results using statistical techniques and translate data into actionable insights.
- Report results to stakeholders on a monthly, quarterly, yearly, or ad hoc basis.
- Act as a consultant on technological and social innovations, ensuring best practices and thought leadership.
- Lead and support client meetings and communications.
- Maintain an active presence in tools and platforms to advise on platform-specific concerns and trends.
- Proactively provide clients with thought leadership, recommendations, and education on capabilities.
- Go above and beyond expectations, bringing fresh ideas and questioning the status quo.
- Communicate effectively to all stakeholders, including senior management.
- Act as a resource to help fuel organic business growth.
- Work with Growth and Client teams on renewals and account changes.
- Help create case studies for training and development materials.
- Provide strategic recommendations for trends and events to the Customer Success team.
- Proactively provide updates on account health as needed.
- Adopt and educate on up-and-coming platforms and technology.
- Share inspirational and educational resources within strategy and other departments.
- Train internal teams to integrate and maintain a cohesive social media strategy.
- Lead and inspire a team of social strategists and managers by creating a positive work environment.
- Build and maintain team morale by helping them reach their full potential and achieve goals.
What We're Looking For
- At least 7 years of social media management and reporting experience.
- Proven work experience as a Social Media Strategist, showcasing leadership in strategy development.
- At least 2 years of experience leading people.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, PR, or equivalent.
- Resourcefulness and a can-do attitude, thriving in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong sense of account ownership and pride in work, with excellent multitasking abilities.
- Strong time management and decision-making skills, coupled with good judgment.

- Ability to identify target audience preferences and create content or insights to meet their needs.
- Knowledge of past and current social media trends, marketing, and business strategies.
- Regular user of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, with awareness of other channels.
- Experience with social media management systems like Hootsuite, Sprout, Sprinklr, and Khoros.
- Proficiency in reporting systems like Talkwalker, Brandwatch, Fanpage Karma, and Meltwater.
- Understanding of SEO strategies and digital marketing metrics.
- Proficient computer literacy in software applications, spreadsheet tabulations, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to undergo a Criminal Record Check as part of pre-employment screening.
- The ability to utilize a desktop computer or laptop meeting minimum system requirements.
- Access to high-speed internet, with a minimum speed of 30 mb/s.
- Adequate headset/mic and webcam.
- Fluency in English, with the ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively.

- Proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.

- Compensation: $75k-$85k
