Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary SEO authority, setting standards and guiding decisions across digital properties to enhance content performance and credibility.
- Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies that integrate technical, on-page, and off-page best practices across websites and affiliated domains.
- Optimize for modern search experiences, including AI Overviews, featured snippets, and SGE, using structured data, schema markup, and content refinement.
- Collaborate with digital content, marketing, analytics, and IT teams to align organic and paid strategies, ensuring full-funnel impact and data-driven insights.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of SEO tools, ensuring integration with enterprise analytics, privacy policies, and technology frameworks.
- Build scalable SEO frameworks, topic clusters, and pillar content architectures to strengthen topical authority across departments and affiliated entities.
- Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, and performance reporting to identify opportunities and measure ROI.
- Guide content creators, clinicians, and subject matter experts to ensure alignment with search intent, accuracy, accessibility, and E-E-A-T principles.
- Oversee technical SEO elements including site architecture, crawlability, indexation, and page speed to support high-quality content delivery.
- Translate algorithm updates and shifts in user behavior into strategic adjustments, maintaining performance in dynamic search environments.
- Deliver training and guidelines to writers, developers, and designers to institutionalize SEO best practices across teams.
- Partner with compliance, legal, and clinical stakeholders to balance optimization with institutional risk, regulatory standards, and patient trust.
- Monitor brand visibility in AI-generated search results and develop testing frameworks to evaluate content performance in emerging formats.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required, along with five years of hands-on SEO experience in complex, enterprise-level environments. Demonstrated success in building topic authority and advancing E-E-A-T through organic strategy is essential. Proficiency with Google Search Console, SEMrush, GA4, Semantic HTML, CSS, and schema markup is required. Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills are critical for translating technical insights into strategic actions for non-technical audiences.
A master’s degree or experience in healthcare or higher education is preferred. Expertise in technical SEO and AI/SGE implications is highly valued.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, onsite position located in Rochester, NY. The role operates on a regular daytime schedule and requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams across digital, marketing, and technology domains.
