VSP Vision is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to their teams and other Scrum Masters. You will be responsible for facilitating a cross-functional agile team in iterative technology development and managing detailed project plans.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to your teams and other Scrum Masters.
- Facilitate a cross functional agile collaborative team in iterative technology development.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, handling scope, schedule, budget, progress tracking, change control, testing, documentation, training, and on-time delivery.
- Remove impediments that hinder project progress.
- Facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and iteration meetings.
- Monitor the progress of the sprint.
- Help teams estimate iteration deliverables.
- Manage development tracking system to include product and sprint backlogs.
- Promote continuous communication.
- Monitor and help improve team dynamics.
- Motivate and act as the glue that holds the team together.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for agile methodologies and practices.
- Act as a Release Manager for projects involving multiple scrum teams; manage dependencies between assigned scrum team and third parties or between other scrum teams.
- Generate process reports; maintain relevant metrics for evaluating project progress.
- Partner with the product owner for release planning and backlog maintenance.
- Guide the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values; drive best practices and establish Agile governance structures when necessary.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, project manager, or technical lead within a software development team diligently applying Scrum principles.
- Experience applying a wide variety of well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach.
- Creativity, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop a positive working relationship with peers and management.
- Strong business aptitude, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- Proven ability to navigate complex situations through organizational landscapes with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties.
Nice to Have
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I), preferred (CSP, PSM II).
- Experience with other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
- Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary Range: $63,000.00 - $108,675.00
